Local Wedding Reception Favor Idea

I was thinking about wedding favors and I got a great idea for a local wedding reception favor idea. What do I mean by local? Use the resources that are grown or found in your community.

For instance, if you live on the beach, collect seashells and make beautiful favors for your guests out of them. Be creative.

If you live near an apple orchard in New York State, Ohio, Washington State, or elsewhere, consider giving guests fresh apples, apple butter, apple jelly, or mini apple pies. Homemade, in my opinion is best, but if you want to buy your favors from local farms or stores, go ahead. I understand about how little time a bride to be has when planning her wedding and having to work fulltime too.

If you live in California or Florida near citrus trees, give out lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines, tangelos, or grapefruits. Use the fresh fruit or give out jars of jelly or candied fruits. Yum.

If you are in Hawaii, consider pineapples or coconuts or products made out of them.

If you have pecan trees in Texas or other nut trees or orchards near you, give out sacks of nuts in shells. Or make a craft out of the nuts or shells and use it as a wedding reception favor idea.

Grapevines are all over the country and grapes, jams, and jellies also make wonderful local wedding favors.

Locally produced honey can be purchased from hive owners and given as a delicious wedding reception favor idea. I have heard by word of mouth and read articles about locally produced honey helping to prevent allergies, so this is not only a sweet treat, but a step toward the wellness of your wedding guests.

Perhaps your area is famous for a certain type of food or sauce. Give out bottles of hot sauce or other condiments made in your area.

Maple syrup and maple candies are wonderful if you live in or around Vermont. Fresh maple syrup and candies made from it are so delicious. When I was a little girl, my grandmother went up to Vermont for a visit and brought me some Vermont maple candy in the shape of maple leaves. Yum!

What about cactus candy if you live out in Arizona? This is incredible stuff. While driving out to California on vacation, we stopped in a local shop in a town in Arizona and had the most delicious cactus candy. Before this, I did not know there was such a thing.

Maybe wood is a big industry where you live. Give your guests something small made of wood such as tiny wooden boxes or paperweights.

There are many things that can be used as local wedding favors. With a little creativity, you can come up with the perfect idea for your wedding.
