Wedding Reception Buffet

A wedding reception buffet is a great idea for catering your own wedding.

For instance, you could serve Chinese food. Have fried rice and white rice, side by side so your guests can make a choice. then have sweet and sour pork, chicken, or beef and chicken, pork or beef chow mein. Serve egg rolls and fortune cookies. Guests will love it.

Or try Mexican food. Set up a make-it-yourself taco bar with soft flour tortillas and crunchy taco shells. Use both beef and ground turkey along with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream.

Serve several varieties of enchiladas, flautas, and rolled tacos with salsa, guacamole, and chile con queso. Don't forget the chips. Top the meal off with fresh fruit and sopaipillas.

One more wedding reception buffet idea is to serve Swedish meatballs over egg noodles with a green salad on the side. Swedish meatballs are easy to make and are a favorite among guests. French bread should also be served with this menu.

Tender baked or grilled salmon served with steamed, buttered vegetables and Italian or French bread is another good choice for a meal.

Shrimp with rice and a green salad also make great buffet items to serve at a wedding.

Roast turkey and jalapeno potatoes, favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas dishes in our family, also make a wonderful meal for a wedding, especially in the fall or winter. Serve with a green salad.

Macaroni cheese baked in the oven and served with baked ham and a green salad are wonderful for spring.

Spaghetti or other pasta in tomato sauce served with meatballs makes a wonderful wedding meal anytime of year. Just be careful with the sauce when trying to eat in your beautiful white wedding gown!
