Christian Wedding Prelude

The Christian Wedding Prelude is the music that is played prior to the wedding itself. This is for the guests to enjoy. It puts them in the mood to see a wedding and covers any noises that they make as they enter the church.

A pianist or an organist, a harpist, a guitar player, or even a keyboardist will play music chosen by the bride as guests enter the church or wedding area.

If you cannot find a musician, you can make a mixed CD to play for the wedding prelude prior to the wedding. I have done this many times for weddings.

Some guests arrive early so I suggest that you begin the music 10 to 15 minutes before the wedding is supposed to start.

Beautiful Christian music can be played during this time, along with a mix of secular love songs, if you desire. Background music creates a warm atmosphere and covers whispering and noises among the guests.

The music should not be loud or overbearing. Rather, it should be background music, enjoyable for everyone. The music should not stop. When the wedding party begins their march down the aisle, the musician or CD should flow directly into the Wedding March.

At my wedding, Kim did a wonderful last minute job playing Christian and romantic songs that I picked out for her. She was a teenager but did an incredible job.

I say last minute because my best friend was supposed to play for our wedding but decided she did not approve of me getting married after all so she dropped out. It was an unexpected shock and at first, I did not know what to do. But we had heard Kim play special music a few times at church and she came through for us. Thank you, Kim!
