Wedding Guest Book Ideas

This page has some suggestions for wedding guest book ideas. You can use the traditional pretty wedding guest bookwith a matching pen as I did at my wedding.

1. Some wedding stores sell platters that guests can sign with a special pen and then they can display the platter in their kitchen or den.

2. Cut small squares of card stock and place them on a table in front of a prettily decorated basket, along with a bunch of cheap pens. Cheap because some will walk off and never return. Anyway, display a small sign that tells the guests to write special messages of love or advice to the bride and groom. It is a good idea to put someone in charge of this so that all of the guests actually do it. When the message is complete, it should be dropped into the basket.

3. Have a wedding message tree. Put an artificial plant with branches in a pretty pot. Put a stack of square of round card stock ornaments, about three inches across, with a bunch of pens. The ornaments should have a small hole at the top with some thin gold or silver cord tied in a knot. Guests can write a short message and sign a card stock ornament and hang it on the message tree.

4. Decorate a large shoe box or other box with wrapping paper. Cut a hole in the top. Let guests write messages of love and advice to the bride and groom on card stock and then drop them in the hole. The bride and groom can read these, a few at a time after they get back from their honeymoon and after the thank you cards have been written and mailed out.

5. Another wedding guest book idea is to buy a plain rectangular canvas from an art store along with some fabric markers in a variety of colors. Have all of the guests sign the canvas before the wedding ceremony or during the reception. After the wedding, the bride and groom can have the canvas framed and it can be proudly displayed in their home.
