Small Outdoor Weddings

If you are thinking of inviting just a few friends and close family members, small outdoor weddings may be the perfect venue for you.

Consider having your wedding in your own backyard or in that of a friend or relative. Having the wedding outside instead of indoors means that your home will not be dismantled or rearranged to make room for seating. Some couples do have their wedding inside of a house, even if that house is not big enough to accommodate everyone... Guests will need to use your restroom. Otherwise, weather permitting, all wedding activities are in the yard. You may have to have a few people patrolling to keep guests outside, especially if children are invited.

Small weddings performed in the backyard provide an intimacy between the happy couple and guests that is not felt in a large reception hall.

Surrounded by family and close friends, the couple will exchange vows with the people who are the most important to them. What could be better than that on this very special day?

The actual ceremony can be performed under a beautiful wedding arch. The arch can be decorated with flowers, ribbons, lace, greenery.....

Tables and chairs can be set up for the entire affair. Or rows of chairs can be set up for the ceremony. They can be quickly dismantled after the "I do's". Tables and chairs can then be set up for the reception, complete with elegant tablecloths and pretty centerpieces.

Some couples choose to rent and set up a backyard tent for small outdoor weddings. This will protect your guests in bad weather and keep the hot sun off of them in good weather. If inclement weather occurs, there is no need to panic because the tent is already up.

Backyard weddings can be catered affairs with lavish decorations and flowers. They can also be do it yourself productions, from decorations to food. This can keep costs down if you have a small wedding budget.
