Christian wedding programs are not necessary but they are a nice keepsake to give to your guests. You can have them professionally designed and printed or you can create your own and save money.
First of all, let's discuss what should be included. Obviously, include the complete names of the bride and groom, and the date and location of the wedding.
Next, put the order of the wedding service and the name of each person and what he/she is doing in the wedding.
You can add snippets of information about your wedding party.
Don't forget your pastor's name and what church he preaches at.
Wedding programs are a great place to thank the parents of the happy couple.
You may wish to include a general thank you to all of your wedding guests as well.
If you want to honor those loved ones who are no longer with you here on earth, use the back page of the program to do so.
Christian wedding programs can also be used to explain a tradition or a part of the ceremony not normally performed at most weddings. This can be a religious tradition, an ethnic one, etc.
You may wish to include the reception events along with the wedding ceremony events.
Once you and your fiance have decided on what you want to include in the program and you have typed it all up and printed it out, take the printed copy on plain paper to a printer. Choose pretty paper and have the printer copy sections of the program on different pages. This will save you ink and wear and tear on your printer if you have to make a lot of them.
Then either have the printer punch holes on the left hand side of the papers or do it yourself.
As with all of my other do it yourself wedding tips, gather help. Invite your wedding party over for a fun evening of chat as you put your wedding programs together, page by page. Tie with lengths of ribbon or cording through the holes to bind them together and finish up with a bow tied on the front of the program.
Choose a few people, maybe teens who are not in the wedding to be in charge of handing out a program to each guest on your wedding day.
Christian wedding programs should be put together six to eight weeks ahead of time to relieve the pressure of having yet another task to do.
Free Wedding Announcement Forms can be found on this wonderful website that gives away free church forms, certificates (wedding), fliers and so much more!
