Christian Wedding Poems

If you want Christian wedding poems, look at Song of Solomon in the Bible. Also known as Song Of Songs, this book was written by Solomon who had many wives.

In Song Of Songs, the King (Solomon) writes about the many facets of love in various situations. Solomon uses illustrations to portray love and sexual intimacy without sounding crude. The words are perfect as love poetry. They express the feelings between a husband and wife. Yet there is nothing shameful about what Solomon says.

Below are some passages in Song Of Songs that may be appropriate for your wedding:

Song Of Songs aka Song Of Solomon:

2:3-7

2:10-13

3:1-5

4:1-7

5:10-16

6:4-9

Solomon's poetry sounds beautiful in the melodic King James Version. Some of it is more understandable in the New International Version.

Read the book through in both versions and choose specific passages that you like. Discuss having them read with your fiance and your wedding officiant.

If you decide not to use this book of the Bible in your wedding, you can always read the passages together after you are married in the privacy of your own home. There is a lot of romance in those pages.
