Christian Wedding Invitation

Nothing sets the tone for a marriage ceremony more than a Christian wedding invitation.

By using wedding invitations with religious wording and/or symbols, the guests can see that this is a ceremony honoring Christ, as well as the love between the bride and groom.

This kind of announcement tells the guests that yours is no ordinary marriage celebration. It says that this is not the type of wedding where you can get drunk and hopefully get lucky tonight like in the movie Wedding Crashers. No, this is a celebration of love and commitment between the bride and groom with Jesus Christ leading their new home.

There are so many pretty invitations and wedding stationery available without any religious significance. There is nothing wrong with them. But if you want to let people know that your wedding is different and that you are a Christian, a Christian wedding invitation is a great witness.

For my wedding, I spent many hours pouring over books of wedding invitations. I wanted something beautiful, special, unique. There were so many to choose from.

Then I found the perfect invitation--simple, yet elegant, with a profound message in the symbol on the front of it.

The deeply meaningful symbol on the front of my invitation is a cross formed from the Greek letters XP. XP stands for the name of Christ in Greek. The cross also has intertwined rings. This is a well-known ancient symbol that stands for marriage in Christ. Invitations can be found in catalogs and online and are printed by many companies. You can design and make your own as well.

Craft stores and even Wal-Mart have do it yourself invitation kits.

You design what you want on your invitation right on your own computer. Print it out, place it in the envelope, address and stamp it and you are done! The kits come with invitations and matching envelopes. There are also matching Thank You note kits to buy.

A great idea for your envelope is to design your own wedding postage stamp. What better way to mail out your Christian wedding invitation than with a photo stamp of you and your fiance? When friends and family see the photo of you on the front of the envelope, they will know exactly what is inside.

Leftover wedding invitations make terrific wedding invitation crafts.

Another important component is the wording of the invitation. Depending on your family circumstances, you should familiarize yourself with proper wording.

Some couples have a private wedding ceremony, but invite friends and acquaintances to the reception. Here are some wedding reception invitation wording ideas.
