Chinese Food Wedding Reception

by Susan
(Helotes, TX)

I have a great idea. Have a Chinese food wedding reception. Yum. Serve mini eggrolls for appetizers. Serve veggie, chicken, and beef. Then for the meal, offer 2 or 3 main courses such as chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour beef or shrimp, and lots of rice. Serving lots of rice and loading the dishes with a lot of veggies cuts down on the expenses. Serve regular sized eggrolls with the meal and fortune cookies for dessert.

Present each guest with special chopsticks with a label with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. These make colorful, fun favors, along with the fortune cookies. A Chinese food wedding reception is a fun twist on chicken or beef. For centerpieces, you could fill colorful takeout boxes with small silk flowers and have floating candles lit between the flowers.
