Not all brides are a size double 0. Some brides have plenty of curves and may need cheap plus size wedding dresses. You may be able to hire a good seamstress to make your dress. When I was a girl, my grandmother, Elvina Yorgensen, was a seamstress and had a shop in her home. I was there a lot since I lived across the road. My grandmother made beautiful wedding dresses, veils, and bridesmaid dresses. She was so talented.

Look for someone in the neighborhood who will not charge you an arm and a leg to make your dress. Don't go to a shop in an expensive strip mall where they are forced to charge high prices to pay the rent.

Ask friends and relatives if they know of a good seamstress. Someone does and this could be the perfect way to get cheap plus size wedding dresses made to order. My grandmother would have the brides-to-be come in a few times for fittings before finishing the dresses. I don't think she charged nearly enough for her work and her clients used to tell her that all the time.
